Clearance on Aireal products
-- Posted on Wednesday, January 16 2008
Due to Aireal closing shop we are having a massive clearance on all Aireal products as we won't be getting any more.
Many products are going at less than cost price and up to half retail so be quick as there isn't a lot left.
You can rest assured about after sales support though as we have plenty of stock of spares and these are some of the most reliable bicycle products in the world.
Pairs of hubs are going for crazy money and the headstes nwo represent superb value.

Aireal Closes Shop!
-- Posted on Wednesday, January 16 2008
It's a massive shame but Aireal have decided to close shop on their cycle part business.
Basically they were having trouble sourcing high quality material in Australia and due to the Australian dollar increasing in value export sales were slowing up as it was making ti more expensive for customers like oursleves to buy their product, even though it's still good value!
Click here for a link to an interview with the owner of Aireal for why it's happened.
Just goes to show bicycle companies aren't making loads of money as people think. They can make a lot more money for less hassle in normal industry, it's a passion for the sport that drives people to work in the bike industry.

Aireal Wheelbuilds
-- Posted on Tuesday, March 21 2006
We've been doing loads of wheelbuilds over the last few years so have decided to focus more on this way of supplying Aireal hubs.
Look for the new wheelbuilds section to be up and running online very soon. There will be everything from 24" jump wheels through to 26" DH sets and 29" XC wheelsets.
You will now have more choice on brand of spokes, lacing patterns as well as options for great value cassettes and tyres with your wheels.
Aireal Australia - Crowns, hubs and headsets
-- Posted on Tuesday, March 21 2006
Still delays on the 888 crown's i'm afraid so sorry for everyone waiting for them. They were nearly finished and the main essential CNC machine went bang! It's all underway now so i'm hoping we'll have it all here asap.
The new and improved EV1.2 headsets are now in stock in loads of colours, the sealing is fantastic so should last ages in the U.K., plus they're 25g lighter now.
Hubs are slowly arriving in most colours, the new anodising and engraved logo's are sweet as.

Aireal Switch II Hubs
-- Posted on Tuesday, November 1 2005
Just received stock of Aireal's latest version of the Switch hub, the Switch II.
Now made from an even better alloy (7075 rather than 6061) with a completely re-designed, and made in house, freehub assembly.
The bearings are now supported more by the re-designed cromo axle and a screw in insert in the cassette carrier, which should help prolong bearing life even more by taking more of the sideloads off the bearings.
The driveside flange of the rear hub is larger to help build a stronger and stiffer wheel.
The front hub is thinner in the middle and now has QR endcaps whcih are adjustable with a 5mm allen key rather than by hand as with the old model.
Best part is that we are keeping the prices the same at just £119.99 and £69.99 for the rear and front respectively, great prices for such a superior quality performance product.

Aireal Wheelbuilds
-- Posted on Friday, October 28 2005
We've updated the rim choice section on our Aireal Wheelbuilds.
To simplify matters we have listed purely downhill, freeride and all mountain rims for the Switch DH hubs and more XC and trail use orientated rims on the XC hubs.
We've had to drop Arrow rims as we've simply never been able to get stock from the UK importer so a bit pointless offering them to people, a real shame as they are awesome rims.
We have also got stock of the new Camo MTX rims (superb looking but better without the MTX stickers though) and have chrome ones coming in soon for those rider's seeking a unique look for their rig.
Same great value applies as you simply pay the extra price of thew rim on top of the hub. The spokes, rim tape, postage are all thrown in free with no charge for building!
Keep posted for pics of the new Aireal hubs arriving next week!

Keewee Pricing
-- Posted on Tuesday, October 25 2005
We're changing the way we sell Keewee suspension frames in the UK which has enabled us to reduce prices to give you a better deal.
Basically the frames cost us quite a lot of money as they are truly 100% handmade in New Zealand and the market is super competitive at the moment, with many excellent far eastern made frames going at great prices it's hard to compete.
Therefore in order to increase demand we have decided we can no longer afford to carry stock and will now get frames in to order. This only takes a maximum of 4 weeks which is a lot less than many manufacturers claim so we think the savings are worth it. Full payment is required i nadvance i'm afraid but the wait is well worth it for the savings.
This now means you can get the superb CromoEIGHT for just £1299
Please check the Keewee section for new pricing info.

Chainguide clearance
-- Posted on Monday, October 17 2005
We've got a whole load of 5 arm chain devices in all sorts of colours and sizes which, due to nearly every bike coming with 4 arm cranks these days, are slow moving and taking up space so we're having a bit of a clearout to make way for more stock of what we need.
This means that if you need a 5 arm chainguide you can get a top spec chainguide from just £49.99!
Simply go to the Aireal section and take a look at the standard and ISCG guides to grab a bargain.
Oury Grips
-- Posted on Tuesday, August 30 2005
In conjunction with a new UK based bike company, Evo Ghost Cycles, we have secured the UK and Europe wide distribution deal for OURY GRIPS.
This is a big deal for us. Although Oury haven't been around on our shores very much for years now they are widely recognised as the best grips money can buy.
They're available in several grip patterns, all made from a super tacky Kraton Rubber, and a whole raft of colours including Pink on some models!
The mountain grip is even available in an ODI Lock-On version.
All grips will be available from dealers nationwide soon and online as soon as we get stock (this week hopefully).
Details are on the site now and pictures will be up as soon as we receive stock, in the meantime check Oury's website:

Aireal Update
-- Posted on Tuesday, August 30 2005
The new owners of Aireal have been very, very busy lately and, although the changeover caused more delays, especially for the 888 crowns, we're getting back up to speed. All customers waiting for 888 crowns will have them within the next 2 weeks and we will have spare stock left over at last!
Changes Aireal are making:
Name Change - Will now be known as Aireal Asutralia rather than Aireal Industries
New grade of alloy for all parts - this alloy is superior to the industry standard 6061-T6 that Aireal have used for years and is almost 3 times the cost but we'll hopefully be keeping the retail prices the same where possible. Some competitors are launching new models with cheaper grades of alloy!
New XC Hub Design - A completely new design of lightweight xc hub is in the works at the moment so we're looking forward to this one,
New Switch Hub Design - New secured bearings, freehub/cassette carrier will now be made in house to a new design and higher spec. Most manufacturers buy theirs in from a mass-producer and although they're very good the new guys wanted better!
888 integrated stem - as the title suggests this is a new direct mount stem for the Aireal 888 crowns (apparently won't fit standard marzocchi crowns i'm afraid). This will be an option on the crowns and also available aftermarket for those who are lucky enough to already have the crowns.
New 888 Flat Crown design - Made from the new alloy with more material in some places and less in others and even closer tolerances top make them a nice evolution of the aleady successful crowns.

Aireal

Aireal have some new owners which is pretty exciting. Due to the changeover there's been a few delays in stock but nto as bad as it could have been.
The new owners are super cool to work with and are very enthusiastic about the future and developing new and better products so keep your eyes open!
Headsets are once again available in gold and are to die for...
On the 888 crown front we have just received our first batch in ages but most have gone to meeting existing orders but we have a few gold sets left at the moment.

I'm in Morzine riding from 1st July until 8th July
-- Posted on Wednesday, June 29 2005
Just to let everyone know i'll be away for one week riding in Morzine.
It's never a good time to get away, every time i think i'm on top of things something comes up and no matter when i go i'm bound to let a customer down who wants something quick but after a year of no break i need a week away i'm afraid.
During this time feel free to place web orders and email me but you'll need to wait until i get back for a response or for me to dispatch items.
Due to the takeover of Aireal we haven't received stock from them for nearly 2 months so we are very low on a lot of items such as hubs and obviously completely out on 888 flat crowns.
We're working hard to resolve this situation but it's gonna take time as we don't have a bottomless pit of money to order tonnes of stock so can only get a certain amount in at a time. We need to receive payment after dispatchign goods until we can pay for the next shipment so there will always be a delay of 3-4 weeks between deliveries. We want to meet as many orders as qucikly as possible as it's good for us too so rest assured we're dfoing all we can.
In the meantime to speed things up we will need to take a 50% deposit on all 888 flat crown orders so we can get stock in quicker, on web orders you will be contacted first to notify you.
Thanks
Happy Riding
Kevin
Changes at Aireal
-- Posted on Wednesday, June 29 2005
There's been some changes at Aireal that we have only just become aware of, they've been purchased by another machine shop!
Should be good news as the new owners seem very keen to take Aireal to the next level but obviously it's caused delays in getting product to us for a short while, just as we were getting on top of the stock situation as well!
This is understandably a pain for people waiting for 888 flat crowns so i'm sorry but it's out of our control and was completely unexpected.
As it stands a shipment is ready to go and as soon as they receive our payment (banks don't work as quick as i would like) they will be with us within a fortnight. There won't be enough 888 crowns to meet all orders up to date but nearly everyone whose been waiting a while will be okay, this means we won't have any free stock for a while too.

New Aireal hubs!
-- Posted on Tuesday, May 24 2005
Well not completely new, it's not like there was a lot of room for improvement.
As they're now making far more hubs they are able to cost effectively get the hub shells cold forged and then CNC machined which means 25% more strength for no weight gain.
Flanges on the rear Switch hubs have been changed and a nice new Aireal logo added. All end caps on the rear hubs are now stainless steel with 4mm internal allen key head for fitting rather than the 18mm spanner slot of old.
